Innocent Until Proven Guilty.

Guilty Pleasures. Can you tell me why each time someone admits to liking something that is not stereotypically cool or accepted they say, “oh it’s my guilty pleasure.” One, that does not stop someone from judging you, and two, why do you care? If your friend is judging you for being a nerd or weird, well then that person should not be your friend. You should not feel guilty if you like to dip your french fries into your frosty. You should not feel guilty for rocking out to Justin Bieber and T.Swift. You should not feel guilty about something that makes you happy. C’mon world, get it together. Be proud of the little things in life that make you who you are. Don’t hate and celebrate what makes you happy! I, Sonia Foroudastan, love j.biebs and I’m proud to say it.

What Sonia Says?

"What does Sonia say?" What an excellent question that I personally have been struggling to answer. Recently, I've been contemplating writing a blog. I thought it would be cool and refreshing to share my thoughts, opinions, and ideas with the world.  Sadly, the fear of having an epic fail of a blog was constantly running through my mind. I had no idea what exactly I wanted to blog about, and the thought of people judging my lame blog topic ideas and my multiple grammar mistakes was stopping me from actually trying this new hobby. This brought me to the idea, why do we, as a society, care so much about what other people think?
If I want to blog, then I'm going to blog. If you don't like it, then don't read it. If you think I'm lame for writing a blog, well then you're lame for reading one. A new friend that I've recently started to hang out with is teaching me the art of not giving a crap. Yes that is right world I, Sonia Foroudastan, am learning to actually not care about what other people think of me, and just enjoying my life. The fact that this is a life lesson I have to learn at 18 years of age is quite sad. I may sound pathetic, but guess what, you probably need it too.
But real talk here, why do you care what the person next to you is thinking about you? This fear of social acceptance into the "norm" of society is quite sad. If everyone in the world cared about what others thought, well then life would be so boring and bland. The funniest people are the ones that are slightly weird. The most interesting people are the ones with the most unique hobbies and life experiences.
World, get ready for the new Sonia, the one who does not give a crap. From now on, you will be able to read the voice of a spunky bubbly college student as she tries to figure out this thing we call life.
